First donkeys - now noblest grapes: Our vineyard Mußbacher Eselshaut

We like to call the Eselshaut our allrounder: Not only good Rieslings, but also finest Auxerrois, Burgundy or Sauvignon Blanc grow up here.

The name "Eselshaut" incidentally comes from the word “donkey keep“. Donkeys were kept here in the past.

The Eselshaut has heavy soils, which are dominated by clay, sandy loam and loess. These wines ripen particularly well in hot, dry years.
